Whilst picnicing with my parents they got their cling filmed sandwiches out of their sandwich box.
“Why are they in cling film?”, I asked. “When they are already in a box?!?!”. The answer , “It stops the fillings falling everywhere if you keep the cling film round the bottom when your eating”. Clever idea, but not great for the environment if that bit of cling film finds its way out of the bin and onto the ground . Potentially making its way into a river and and then out to sea.
It was my Mums birthday coming up so I went ahead and bought 2 beeswax sandwich wraps from BeeGreen.shop. They arrived 3 days later. Impressively they were packaged in a recyclable paper envelope. No bubble wrap or stickers here. (There was a small bit of bubble wrap protecting the lip balm but that will be reused.) The gift box comes nicely presented perfect to give as a present.
The lovely lady also threw in an extra wrap as it was a Birthday present 😊Having never seen a beeswax wrap I had to open it and have a look.
As you can see they come in 3 different sizes.
I kept the smallest for my Daughters packed lunch. It is perfect for wrapping biscuits and small pastries. It has been used 5 or 6 times up to now and works perfectly.
Imagine all that cling film saved from landfill. 😊
Don’t you find it annoying when your cling film gets stuck together before you get it on the thing you want to cover? Then you spend the next five minutes trying to unpeel it from itself. Or when your foil wont unpeel properly and it has to be binned. Well with beeswax wraps you will have none of these problems.
A beeswax wrap is simply a piece of material covered in beeswax. You warm the wrap in your hand and use it as you would cling film. Only you can reuse it over and over again. They come in all different designs. I love the bright bold sunflower design.
They are super easy to clean. You just run them over with a damp sponge.
I was also sent this tube of lip balm. Made from all natural ingredients beeswax , shea butter, honey and vanilla. It smells delicious.
I have been using it for over a week now and it does the job. The texture isnt sticky, and your safe in the knowledge there are no nasty chemicals going on your lips.
It fits perfectly in a coat pocket or a purse. And comes in this stylish packaging.
If you have never considered using these wraps then go ahead , you won’t be dissapointed. Even better give them as a gift.
Do you use them? What green gifts have you given or plan to give?
